What are Spiritual Gifts? As the Apostle Paul tells us in his letter to the Corinthians, each person is given special gifts by God called spiritual gifts. These gifts are intended to be used in the context of community to help the body of Christ function in a healthy manner. Using our God-given spiritual gifts also gives us opportunity to grow in our faith, find new connecting points with God, and mature in our own discipleship.
When we are able to identify our spiritual gifts, we can use them to do our part in the church, helping fulfill it's mission. We are called to be good stewards of not only our finances, but also of our spiritual gifts.
You can read about these special gifts in 1 Corinthians 12, where Paul gives a list of spiritual gifts and tells us how the church is supposed to function as one body, where many gifts may be present, but we all have one spirit.
Taking the Spiritual Gifts Assessment You have two options for taking the Spiritual Gifts Assessment.
Option 1: Online Go to the Ministry Matters' website (HERE) and take the survey.
The assessment will take you about 15-20 minutes and will give you your results at the end (in order of highest score to lowest). We encourage you to either print your results or write them down for future reference. On the Ministry Matters' website, you can also find explanations of the various spiritual gifts on the assessment.
Option 2: Hardcopy You may also print a hard copy from the links below for both the Ministry Matters' assessment and the list of Ministry Matters' spiritual gift explanations. You may also pick up a pre-printed hard copy from the office.
You will need to allot 15-20 minutes of time to take the spiritual gifts' assessment, as well as 5-10 minutes to calculate your results.
If you have any trouble, have any questions, or need assistance in any way; please contact Kevin Ward at [email protected] or call the church office at 704-553-1327 ext. 105.
